KASHMARI RAISINS
Kashmar formerly Keshmar is a city and the capital of Kashmar County, in Razavi Khorasan Province, Iran. Kashmar is located near the river Shesh Taraz in the western part of the province, and south of the province’s capital Mashhad, in Iran. Kashmar city with 4 thousand hectares of vineyards is famous for its high-quality grapes and raisins. Kashmar raisins are unique in terms of quality, sweetness, early ripening and free from soil contamination. It is favored by those who dislike the extreme sweat flavor of other raisins types. Also, this type of raisins does not have any toxic residues due to the not using pesticides. 25% of Kashmar grapes is consumed as fresh fruit and remaining 75% becomes raisins. Kashmar raisins, which are processed in both green and golden forms.
Similar to golden raisins Kashma raisins (long raisins) are made using sulfur (SO2) treatment process and shade dried so they are golden amber in color. The max amount of sulfur allowed in golden Kashmar raisins is 1500ppm. After delivery to the factory kashmar raisins are double washed, oven dried, coated with vegetable oil, stemmed, mechanically cleaned, laser and hand sorted then metal detected under extreme care of hygienic conditions.
